There is a new frozen yogurt shop set to open in Evanston this spring -- just in time for the warmer weather.

Andy's Frozen Custard is moving into the old Barnes and Noble store in Evanston. The space was recently cleaned up, and construction is set to begin in March. Owner Andy Kuntz says he hopes to open the shop in May.

The space is located at the corner of Church and Sherman, just one block north of another popular fro-yo shop, Red Mango. But Kuntz said he offers a wider variety of candy toppings, and some students say they think it will be a tough competitor.

"I love Resee's peanut cups on my fro-yo," said Northwestern senior Laura Heely. "And it's closer, so I think more students will go there."

There are currently 13 Andy's locations with the nearest one in Bolingbrook. Kuntz says he hopes to open many more shops in the Chicago area.
