Thousands of drivers in the San Francisco Bay had a sigh of relief this morning: the Bay Bridge that closed six days ago reopened.
The bridge shut down last week when a 5,000 pound piece of metal fell into traffic.
About 280,000 drivers use the bridge daily. It reopened to commuters this morning at 9:00 a.m.
A Caltrans representative said they are marking sure this doesn't happen again.
