Continuing the trend

Henry Rosoff here again. This week we continue the trend of covering new and exciting stories around campus and the Chicagoland area in new and exciting ways.

On Monday you saw the NNN’s ability to cover breaking news. We brought you exclusive video from an event that happened just under an hour before showtime. Our own Adam Amaro was on the scene when a woman was struck by a CTA train. You also met two of our new faces, the Monday anchors: myself and Christi Ileto. We were very happy to be working together on what turned out to be a real solid newscast. Also on Monday, you met another new sports anchor: Josh Wienstock, who put together a sports block that included breaking down games that ended just before we got on air, not too shabby for his first time on set.

Moving on to Wednesday, which should be an equally exciting show, we’ll have truly up to the minute news. NNN will bring you the ASG election results and tell you what the next step for those elected and the student body at large. Plus, we’ll have all the latest from Governor Blagojevich’s visit to campus, an event sponsored by NU's little know Political Action Organization. Also we’ll update two stories touched on Monday: Sex Week and Plex resident’s outrage over the new side door alarm policy. Wednesday will also see a new sports anchor take the desk. Patrick Lester, who like Josh is an experienced Sportsnight reporter, is bringing his talents to the desk.

We’ll have an In Focus for those of you looking for a way to subsidize those unpaid internships, and as always an edition of rock talk. It’s shaping up to be a good show so tune in Wednesday at 7 pm on NU channel 1 or here on NNNtv.org.
