Male Pageant Show for Charity

Usually Medill’s McCormick Tribune Auditorium is used for journalism lectures, but on Tuesday it was the site of a male beauty pageant.

Sorority Kappa Alpha Theta held the fourth annual Mr. CASAnova philanthropy event. Members from twelve NU Fraternities showed off their skill, charm and outfits to become the next Mr. CASAnova.

Nishant Nayar was the winner. He beat a gymnast, a half-naked saxophone player, and an attempt at Beyoncé’s single ladies dance.

Nayar said it was more than just his performance and SpongeBob costume that helped him win.

“I can’t say I was surprised. I didn’t volunteer for this. I was chosen. Not only by the house, but I believe by outside forces. The heavens if you will,” Nayar said.

The Pageant raised money for CASA, a nonprofit agency for abused
or neglected children.
