Friday Night Fun for Students

Northwestern students are getting new entertainment options for Friday nights thanks to new student group NU Nights.

The group aims to fill the gap in late night boredom by bringing free weekly events closer to home.

With A&O's help, NU Nights hosted its first event Friday night at Norris. More than 100 students attended the 1920's themed night. They watched the musical Chicago, listened to live jazz music, and dressed up for vintage photography and caricature drawings.

NU Night's president says they were happy with the turnout, but one of their biggest priorities is making sure students know what they're all about.

“My goal is for when people say the term NU Nights to really think ‘awesome like a weekend thing that I know every weekend I can go to that's going to be something fun, enjoyable that a lot of my friends are going to go to that can stop by and have a good time,’ that kind of becomes part of the culture,” said President Andrew Christy.

90s kids can check out their second event, 90s bingo, this Friday at Norris.
