Evanston First Liquor Fined

Continuing with the underage-drinking saga in Evanston, another business ran into trouble for selling alcohol to minors. Evanston First Liquor will be fined $2,000 for the offense.

The liquor store has been written up 12 times so far this year. This is  up from just one violation in both 2009 and 2010, but they had a different owner then.

The current owner says they are frustrated trying to find better ways to spot underage buyers. They installed ID scanners in February to help catch fakes, but they do not know what to try next.
